The $110m Curtin School of Design and Built Environment (SoDBE) Building 418, constructed on the Bently Campus, was designed to excite the learning potential of students. Certain structural elements and services ranging through electrical, mechanical and hydraulic will be left exposed as practical teaching aids.
This five storey, open plan structure, will also incorporate 2,500 square metres of shared floor area across multiple levels, available for lease by commercial tenants.
Our works package included detailed earthworks, formwork, concrete, concrete pumping, tower boom pumping and minor tilt-up concrete works. Construction on this project continued under the tight restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, yet the structural works were completed 2 months ahead of schedule.
This project was yet another opportunity for us to forge our strong partnership with Lendlease Building here in Perth Western Australia.
