The new Aquatic Centre at Corpus Christi College in Bateman Western Australia, features a covered and heated 25m, indoor lap and water polo pool, a separate 12m learn-to-swim pool, and terrace seating for up to 180 people. Our contract was directly to our client Commercial Aquatics, who were engaged to construct both pools for Pindan.
Working closely with the construction design team, our engineer developed innovative methodology for monolithic concrete pours, eliminating the requirements for construction joints below water level. This required suspending the formwork and rebates with comprehensive bracing and supports, to ensure absolute zero movement during the concrete pour. Working to strict tolerances, our specialist team produced outstanding results to the highest quality standards, requiring no rectification works.
Commencing construction in November 2019, the project was on schedule for completion towards the end of 2020, ready for the upcoming swimming season competitions.
